On 22 May 2025, the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), in collaboration with IJN University College (IJNUC), organized a special interview session for the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) course, aimed at providing educational and career opportunities to underprivileged students in Perak.
A total of 40 students participated in the session—children from financially challenged backgrounds who had achieved commendable results in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations. This initiative reflects a shared commitment by MAIPk and IJNUC to bridge the gap in access to quality healthcare education for youth in need.
The PCA course offers a gateway into the healthcare sector, equipping students with essential skills and knowledge to support patient care in hospitals and clinical settings. Understanding the financial hurdles these students face, MAIPk and IJNUC are fully supporting their participation in the program to ensure that economic barriers do not hinder their potential.
Adding to the significance of this initiative, Fatimah Hospital in Ipoh, Perak, has agreed to offer employment to these students upon their graduation from the 6-month PCA program. This collaboration not only enhances their practical learning experience but also secures a direct career path, empowering them to uplift their families and communities.
Through this meaningful partnership, IJN University College continues its mission to develop skilled healthcare professionals and provide accessible education for all. This initiative stands as a testament to the power of community-driven support in transforming lives.
