IJN College Students Engage with PM Anwar Ibrahim at Historic Temu Anwar Event

May 6, 2025

5 May 2025 – Kuala Lumpur:
IJN College proudly participated in a significant national event, Temu Anwar, hosted in the presence of Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, affectionately known as PMX. This milestone event marked the first engagement between the Prime Minister and Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta (IPTS) in Malaysia.

A total of 40 students from IJN College were selected to attend this impactful session, which provided a rare and valuable platform for students to voice their concerns, ideas, and aspirations directly to national leadership. The event aimed to foster open dialogue between student representatives and government stakeholders, highlighting key issues in the realm of higher education in Malaysia.

During the session, PM Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the landscape of tertiary education, including student welfare, academic development, and industry-relevant training opportunities. He encouraged young Malaysians to remain engaged, informed, and proactive in shaping the country’s future.

“This was an eye-opening experience. Being able to share our thoughts with PMX and hear his vision for education made us feel truly heard,” said one of the participating IJN College students.

Accompanying the student delegation was none other than Prof. Emerita Dr. Durrishah Idrus, Chief Executive of IJN College, whose presence reinforced the institution’s commitment to empowering students beyond the classroom.

The presence of IJN College students at Temu Anwar reflects the institution’s dedication to providing students with holistic learning opportunities beyond the classroom, especially those that contribute to national discourse and youth leadership.

IJN College extends its heartfelt thanks to the organisers and the Ministry of Higher Education for the invitation and remains committed to nurturing future-ready graduates who are actively involved in shaping the future of Malaysia.
